Why Choose KEMROC Trenching Attachments?
Versatile Trenching Solutions
Depending on the required trench width and depth, KEMROC offers a range of products, including Chain Cutters (EK), Double Drum Cutters (KR, KRD & EKT), Bullhead cutter (KRC) and Cutter Wheels (DMW). These attachments can excavate trenches with high accuracy for various applications, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
Exact Width & Depth Control
KEMROC trenching attachments like the KRC 140, EK 100, EK 140, and DMW 90 are engineered to excavate trenches with precise width and depth, ranging from 80 mm to unlimited mm, and depths of up to 14 meters with installed extensions, ensuring efficient excavation every time.
- EKT 110: Minimum width 900 mm, and by swinging the excavator between the trench sides we can reach any required width. One of the most compact drum cutters (of its torque and cutting force in the market) having the ability to achieve the narrowest trench of 900 mm width for carriers and excavators from 25-32 ton.
- EK 100: Minimum width 600 mm and the maximum width is either by swinging the excavator or cutting multiple lines.
- KRC 110: Minimum width 810 mm and maximum width is either by swinging the excavator or cutting multiple lines.
- EK 160: Minimum width 800 mm and maximum width is either by swinging the excavator or cutting multiple lines.
- KRC 160: Minimum width 880 mm and maximum width is either by swinging the excavator or cutting multiple lines.
Linear Productivity Advantage
Our cutters excel at linear productivity, which is critical in trenching applications. Unlike rock breakers, KEMROC attachments excavate trenches in vertical layers, ensuring faster progress and eliminating the need for rework, while maintaining accurate and clean trench profiles.
Minimal Rework and Efficient Material Handling
KEMROC cutters allow for the full excavation of a trench section to its required depth, automatically providing clean trench side finishing and ground leveling. This reduces the need for additional excavation, minimizes over-excavation, and saves on material handling costs and new material costs.
Underwater Operation
Our trenching attachments are capable of working up to 30 meters underwater without any modifications, making them ideal for both marine and projects with high groundwater table.
with chain cutters (EK) and bullhead cutters (KRC)- excavate trenches without the need for side-to-side movement, reducing wear and tear, achieving consistent trench width with every pass.
o EK Chain Cutters: supports range of cutting widths from 390 mm up to unlimited trench width. o KR, KRD, and EKT Double Drum Cutters: Suitable for trenching in medium to hard rock with cutting width from 500 mm up to unlimited trench width. o DMW Cutter Wheels: Capable of cutting trenches to a fixed cross-section, customized based on the wheel diameter. Ideal for narrow trenching from 80 mm up to 400 mm with cutting depth 400 mm up to 1,000 mm. o KRC Bullhead Cutter: suitable for trenching in medium to hard rock with cutting width from 600 mm up to unlimited trench width . o KTR Trenching Attachment: for medium hard rock with cutting width from 170 mm up to 450 mm with cutting depth from 1,000 mm up to 1,800 mm.
Drum Cutter and Chain Cutter achieve 2x to 4x the productivity of rock breakers on the same excavator due to the vertical excavation layers and efficient material displacement during cutting. Automatically providing clean trench side finishing and ground leveling.
KEMROC attachments can handle trench widths from 130 mm up to unlimited widths, with trench depths of up to 14 meters with long reach excavators and/or installed extensions, depending on KEMROC trenching attachment used.
Our trenching solutions reduce the cost per cubic meter of excavation, compared to traditional rock breakers or trenchers, due to lower fuel consumption up to 40%, minimal over-excavation, lower pick consumption and reusable output material as backfill.
All KEMROC trenching attachments are compatible with a wide range of excavator models from 0.5 t – 125 t, making them suitable for diverse trenching and excavation needs.
Noise levels of 75 – 80 dB (including excavator noise) making KEMROC attachments suitable for urban areas, unlike rock breakers that generate higher noise and vibrations, posing a risk to nearby structures.

Main Trenching Applications
Utility and Pipeline Installation:
KEMROC trenching attachments are designed for efficient, deep, and narrow trenching with maximum productivity, enabling precise trench profiles and reducing transport costs.
Underwater Trenching:
Capable of operating at depths up to 30 meters underwater, KEMROC cutters provide unmatched versatility in marine construction and trenching projects in wet conditions. Additionally, KEMROC designs attachments capable of trenching in depths more than 1000 meters underwater.
Trenching in Sand and Soft Soil:
using Kemsolid attachments – KRD mixing cutters for MSM (Mass Soil Mixing) and KSI mixing swords for TSM (Trench Soil Mixing) offering consistent performance in stabilizing soils, ensuring reliable trenching operations that are both safe and cost-effective.
Crossing Utilities:
As KEMROC attachments work with low vibration, therefore they are capable of cutting rock below services, making neat passages under crossing utilities—something that is impossible with conventional trenchers.
Manholes Excavation:
KEMROC attachments break rocks into exact size manholes along excavating main trench, enhancing the overall efficiency of the excavation process, leading to faster and more effective project execution.
Shaft Excavation for Micro Tunnelling:
KEMROC cutters are designed to minimize the required working space, making them ideal for projects on roads and highways. Unlike traditional rock breakers, which need ample space around the excavation area, KEMROC’s precision tools allow for more efficient use of confined spaces.
